Immigration Work permits for Europe
Why choose Europe?
Europe is thriving with opportunity for skilled foreign workers. In the past few decades, it has seen an increasing flow of migrants from across the globe, with Asia becoming the key source for labour shortages. Europe offers greater earning potential and an opportunity to improve your existing skillset. A European passport is a wonderful thing to obtain.
There are certain processes required of a foreign worker seeking employment in Europe. If there is an offer of employment and these requirements are suitably met, a worker can relocate within just a few months from the time of their application.

Popular Jobs
Currently, the most sought-after professional jobs within Europe include construction workers, cleaners, electricians, plumbers, kitchen helpers, cooks, drivers and security guards. Due to the nature of these roles, there is a greater possibility of acquiring a permit for qualified workers, providing there are labour shortages relating to the role in question.
Those that seek unskilled roles are unlikely to be unsuccessful with their application.
Language
Foreign workers must demonstrate that they have a specific level of language for the appropriate country. It is advisable to research your chosen country to learn more about the spoken language.

Process
Though the permit processes will vary dependent upon the nature of the role, it will begin with an offer of work from a European employer. In order to qualify, the employer must prove that attempts have been made to recruit an EU-national without success.
Providing they have evidence supporting this, they can then apply for the permit on behalf of the individual. This process can be extremely straightforward or highly complicated – sadly, there is no one-size-fits-all due to the variables that need to be considered, including country of origin, skills and salary level.
Once the permit is approved, the individual will pay a processing fee before they are able to commence work. It is likely that a visa interview will be required in order to check credentials and get to know candidates a little better. Due to processing times, it is recommended that permits are applied for at least two months prior to travel.
When the permit has been granted, it is valid for 1-3-years. However, upon its expiry, there is an opportunity to apply for an extension. This is a further application process, but much less complicated than the previous.

Processing Timelines
On average, a work permit has a waiting time of 6-7 months. For this reason, it is advisable to apply as soon as possible.
Requirements
There are a number of things that you must prepare and complete for your application. These include:
- An average of a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 is required.
- Experience in the required sector.
- A passport photo.
- A valid passport (that is valid for at least a further three months from the time of application) and copies of previous visas.
- Flight details to Europe (though not always necessary).
- Proof of accommodation.
- Proof of qualifications.
- An employer contract from your future employer.
- A medical insurance policy covering expenses of up to EUR 30,000.
- Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse etc., ration card if applicable).
